In 2010, we will continue our focus on literacy through the arts with two exhibitions. Fairy Tales will bring paintings created to illustrate stories, and TEDD ARNOLD: Reading Pictures will feature the works of this celebrated artist and author. Readings, book signings, a special Tea Party and other events will accompany these exhibitions. A traditional Arnot favorite, the Gallery Gala Exhibition, will return in a new form in the spring; contemporary photographers will be shown in the summer. And that’s just a taste of what we have planned for our 98th season!
The Arnot Art Museum is a world-class institution of fine art located at 235 Lake Street in Elmira, New York USA. and open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am - 5pm. Housed in its original 1833 showcase with a grand late-twentieth century gallery addition, the museum displays its permanent collection of 17th to 19th century European paintings, 19th and 20th century American art. Temporary exhibitions highlight various aspects of the collections and include works from around the world.
